As a St. Louis wedding photographer, we can always use a day in the country, breath the air outside the city on occasion. I really adore these jewel towns in western Illinois. Jamie and Andrea invited me to Andrea's hometown, home farm, home wedding. Places like this feed the soul and my wedding photography grows exponentially with these kinds of inspirations. Pocahontas, Illinois is located just one hour east of St. Louis. The landscape is carpeted in clover and bathed in light. Andrea's family spent weeks orchestrating the whole event, from quilt covered hay bales, to flowers, and tent tables coverd in butcher paper, donning the names of guests in chalk. If I were to give this wedding a theme? Home. Everyone felt at home. Amazing food, easy laughter, genuine hugs. This is the middle of the country and we know how make people feel at home! Jamie and his mom did choreographed dance to "You Can't Hurry Love", the dancing never stopped, and people raved about the catering by Gasperoni Italian Foods. Pocahontas was the perfect location for this country chic wedding. It was wonderful to be a part of Andrea and Jamie's wedding day and capture the warm details that made me feel right at home. Special thanks to Mike and Maya Lunnemann for recommending us for shooting this wedding!
