We were thrilled when we heard that our longtime friend D’Arcy wrote to say she was getting married, and they had picked the perfect venue. We love photographing winery weddings. They are simple and romantic, the landscape offering some of Missouri’s best backdrops for such a beautiful occasion. Among some of the best winery event spaces is Chandler Hill Vinyard. It was an honor to celebrate with Dean and D’Arcy and capture all their personal and beautiful details.

Korey and Aany’s lifestyle engagement took us to one of the favorite corners of St. Louis, on an unseasonably warm day in March. They were at home in some of their regular places, honest and comfortable together they strolled through the beautiful Central West End, perusing the shelves of Left Bank Books and getting a treat at Jeni’s ice cream parlor.

Here are some of our favorite moments from Matt and Melissa’s epic, St. Louis Wedding at Union Station and the Peabody Opera House.  Their old world St. Louis style combined with the warmth and hospitality of this gorgeous couple made this a wedding we will not soon forget.  Thrilled to be sharing their wedding story on the blog today!

I am totally smitten with Sam and Liz’s beautiful St. Louis wedding!  The fine details and elegant style were full of the grace and warmth they both carry.  The celebrations were playful and full of laughter all day.  Here are some of my favorites from their celebration story.

In the fall, Daisy and I headed out to Cafe Osage.  The weather was perfection and the girl even more so.  We shopped and talked and laughed.  We talked about everything from God, to tattoos, relationships to traveling.  She was fully herself, all hand in the hair, optimism and song.  Daisy honored me by sharing her dreams, and ideas, her plans for the future.  She asked questions and I took photos, laughing with her, answering with limited wisdom.  She filled in the blanks on what I forgot about being twenty-one.  I took more photos.

By the end I asked Daisy why the 20 somethings,  are so comfortable not just in front of the camera, but documenting every coffee,  walk and creative snippet on social media?  Her honest answer?

“There is a fear of being forgotten. We want to feel validated, that our existence matters. That’s why, I think, my generation loves being a false celebrity.  We want to feel like our time here mattered.  That is wasn’t waisted.”

Well, you are not alone, Daisy girl.  I’m sure that is the plight of man.  I’m telling your right here, your existence matters, your story is important and my time was not waisted by spending some life with you.

I could spend a dozen more beautiful afternoons listening,  and photographing.  We have plans to catch up again this summer, so check back for another day with Daisy.
