The Small Wedding is the theme of our 2020 season. Celebrations that once were going to include hundreds, now have a guest list of less than 20. ⠀

After March 22nd, when Missouri officially closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Ali and I went back and forth for weeks, with texts, emails, and driveway conversations about the ever changing landscape of what was safe, what was expected, and what was still important about their wedding. Sam and Ali kept their original wedding date, during Memorial Day weekend, but had to change their venue and the number of people attending. The day was gorgeous and everything went beautifully. This story has been the same for hundreds, if not thousands of wedding couples all over the world. Some are waiting, some are going ahead, but being flexible with the details. Covid has shown us what is really important, what we mean to each other, and where we can make a difference.

These intimate weddings encompass only the closest of family. And me, the photographer. It is an honor and I am incredibly thankful to those who are including Beautiful Mess Photography to capture wedding story.
