Today was our first day of school. \u00a0Below are some of the shots from our photography shoot this morning. Arie Alex started her first day of Kindergarten. \u00a0She looked so grown up in her uniform and head band. \u00a0She was ready to go back. \u00a0She woke us up at 6:20 this morning alerting us to the fact that she couldn’t reach her toothpaste. \u00a0I was ready for her to go back, but a little overcome with the fact that she will be in someone else’s care eight hours a day, five days a week, for the next 13 years of her life. \u00a0It has occurred to me more than once in the whole finding a school, getting ready for school, reading school the handbook, buying school supplies, etc, “this is why my mom homeschooled us!” \u00a0I love our school. \u00a0Every time I walk into our school my heart jumps for joy. \u00a0Arie Alex thrives there, and we are blessed to be surrounded by so many wonderful families. Penn wants to be in school. \u00a0She is back at beloved Mrs. Stevens’ house this week, and she took her back pack, dug up some “new shoes” and picked out a dress in similar colors to her sister’s, so that she could “wear a uniform too.” \u00a0 \u00a0Our girls are really fond of each other and I’m so happy they are becoming friends. \u00a0I really like my kids, as frustrated as I can get, and as helpless as I sometimes feel, seeing their sweet smiling faces shows me that without a doubt that their is a God who loves us, and created all that is good beautiful and true.
