Engagement couple outside the St. Louis Art Museum

Capturing Shanna and Jacob’s engagement story was a truly joyful moment. The couple has lived apart for the grater part of 2019 and although I have known Shanna since January, this was my first time meeting Jacob. It couldn’t have been more perfect. They laughed easily and were so comfortable together. Shanna has been instrumental in helping me improve my strength and health this year. She is a talented coach and beautiful friend. It was a gift to see her so adored by Jacob. I couldn’t not be more excited to celebrate their marriage in December! All the happy tears!

There is always a moment of awe when capturing the new bond of two families. Each one unique, and honoring traditions at the same time. Ritual and celebration, a sense of reverence followed by merriment. It was all of these things and more with Adam & Luba’s wedding day. Brining their families to the midwest from across the world to dance and eat and witness their marriage.

As one of the top St. Louis wedding photographers, we are asked for recommendations and ideas everyday. So, welcome to Favorite Things Friday! We love sharing our favorite things, so Beautiful Mess Photography is starting a Favorite Things Friday post. I know it might sound a little precious, but we are here to cheer on our favorite venders, local businesses and all the things that make us happy.

Today we are featuring the Maddison Makeup bag from the Bridesmaid Gifts Boutique.  It is roomy and stylish, very soft and is a great size for all your essentials.

I use this handy little bag for travel and even my full size products fit perfectly. The quilted pattern is classic and the tassel makes it fun!

The zipper is quality and opens and closes easily. I ordered my Maddison bag in Oasis Blue with a “B” for Beautiful Mess Photography or Bailey. 😉  It comes in 15 stunning colors to fit any wedding color scheme. You can pick up yours HERE!

It has been a long, devouring gray kind of winter here in this city I love. But we broke through with our first engagement of the spring, on a perfect sunny day. Haley’s Iced Mango dress, a Pantone color for 2019, was the perfect accent for this bright occasion. The couples connection to Concordia Seminary made it the perfect backdrop for our shoot. Their genuine love and laughter really came through as we cheered the warmth of spring.

People tell me that they choose us to be their wedding photographer because they made a real connection with our images. Out photographs tells a story. There is real emotion in the pictures. To bring that feeling to our images, we must first make a connection with you, our clients. Spending time getting to know you and hearing your story fuels us to bring that story to life. Korey and Aany were so authentic in every piece of their wedding day, that capturing their adventure, was one of the easiest connections I’ve ever made. It was impossible not to be pulled in by the peace and unity of their celebration. Of course, the fully loaded taco bar by Seed Sprout Spoon was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever eaten. Cheers.
